Jurucutuoca is an archipelago made up of a huge island named Ilha Grande, and an islet called Ponta da Praia, in the Northeast coast of Brazil, in the State of Maranhão, right a few kilometers from the gateway of the famous Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, the fourth most popular tourist destination in the country. The property is made up of 8213 acres (33 km²) , and located next to a fishing village. Approximately 2470 acres (10 km²) is dry as well as usable land and besides that, the place features a variety of ecosystems, including mangroves, a lagoon of 800 metres with at least six species of fish, freshwater shrimp, alligators and turtles.
It is also easily accessible, either by land or sea (50 minutes by bass boat). Being very suitable for setting up a successful ecotourism resort or simply a place for private use, its proximity to urban centers and airports makes it easy to transport tourists as well as a convenient option for sustainable ecotourism destinations. There is also an open clearing at the site which used to be a landing strip for small planes, although currently deactivated.
Jurucutuoca is a freehold property and there are no restrictions on the right of the property owner to further transfer it for registration of the estimated area, providing legal certainty for investors, without any overlap of registered areas on the island.
Once developing tourism projects are granted, investors have the opportunity to contribute to the conservation of the island, by promoting sustainable and conscious tourism which can help preserve the place’s natural resources for future generations.
Current infrastructure:
